University of Utah

Hey everyone. I posted earlier about considering University of Utah..and Now i've been accepted! I am still not 100% sure if I will be going there, but I got accepted for fall '08. Yay =)
Anyway, I will be visiting campus and SLC in March for like three days. One day will be filled with a Campus Tour, but I know my mom and I will have at least one, possibly 1.5 days to goof off in SLC and the surrounding area, and I've been put in charge of coming up with said goofing off activities. Any Suggestions? Cute shops, great restaurants, sight seeing?
Thanks in advance!!
I recommend Cucina Toscana on 307 West Pierpont Avenue as far as restaurants. I have found nothing better in the city in all my time here. For less fancy fare, Crown Burger and Gandalfo's are fantastic.
For night time/club stuff, you might try W Lounge and Area 51.
Hogle Zoo and the Red Butte Botanical Garden are nice, but a tad boring.
Don't know where you're coming from, but if you've so much as seen a respectable Six Flags in your life, I do not recommend Lagoon Amusement Park at all. Such a disappointment.
And of course, the usual Mormon stuff (Temple Square, the garden on the conference center roof...)
If you stick around for the long run, I'd try skiing, snowboarding, or longboarding. The foothills and mountains are great.
And Gateway mall is fine for shopping, but the interesting stores are in Trolly Square.
You could also hit Park City for a day and check out all the trendy stuff, if thats your thing.
Finally, in the end your visit to the campus won't give you an even remotely complete or accurate impression. If you do stick around, meet some fun people and whenever you get a chance, explore like crazy. Drive random roads and see what there is to see. I've been here 4 years and I've just begun to discover this town. Transportation is EVERYTHING here...
I've never been to a six flags (just disney world/land) and i don't think we would be going to an amusement part anyway, haha.
Whats Park City?
annnd I definitely hope to get a good feel for the town. I did a campus tour of the school I am going to now, and loved the campus, but didn't spend enough time in the town and i can't stand it, heh.
Thanks for the info=]
